The year is 1849, and the pioneers that  have come to California, "are not the self-satisfied, happy and content people, but the adventurous, the restless, and the daring. They are different from those who have settled in other western states. They haven't come west for home and security, but for adventure and money."

Register today for The Fourth IACP Food History Symposium, "All Things Culinary Around the World in 1849" as we recount the culinary history of the mid 19th century around the globe and how these traditions converged on California during the Gold Rush era.  

Spectacular speakers including Darra Goldstein, Andy Smith, Jeff Pilcher and Carol Helstosky (to name a few) will explain how this unique time in history influenced the following decades in different regions of the world.
 
Scheduled at the end of the California grape harvest, the entire area will be redolent of fermentation, promising an intimate and wine-soaked weekend.
 
Symposium Registration
The registration fee is $450 per person and includes food and local wine-related events that take place during the symposium. Registration is limited to 50 people and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment is required to reserve your space.
